This rustic coastal home, designed by Grassi Design Group and constructed by R.P. Morrison Builders, sits on Little John Island, a small, personal island in Casco Bay, a part of Yarmouth, Maine. The construct took almost two years to finish due to the house’s many tremendous building particulars.

Created as a household retreat, the 6,500-square-foot predominant home is designed to look as if it sits behind a cascading rock wall. The barn (or “man cave”) has a nautical, yacht-inspired affect. Every has its personal (lovely) aesthetic. Sustainable options embrace the next: geothermal heating and cooling, LED lighting, and an air barrier membrane system.

Stone and Timber Entry

A charismatic setting formed this dwelling’s design. A cluster of pavilions in native stone, Douglas fir, and cedar sits comfortably on a gently sloping forest website on the rocky Maine coast. Two crossing stone partitions type the home’s spine and body the entry courtroom. The waterfront seamlessly opens onto stone terraces by means of partitions of home windows and doorways.
