Architects are recognized for taking without end in terms of ending their very own locations. Not so Arthur Verraes of Atelier Avondzon. Together with his companion, Kelly Desmet, a company lawyer, he tackled a complete makeover of a moldering row home in Ghent that had been sitting in the marketplace for months.
The couple labored steadily for 3 years taking up a powerful quantity of the duties themselves: laying brick partitions, constructing cabinets, and tiling baths. However completion occurred because of a useful deadline: the approaching arrival of their son, Lou.
Overhauling their earlier place, an condominium in Brussels, gave Arthur and Kelly the braveness to tackle a needy home. The 2 welcomed the chance to construct: along with making a loft-style dwelling space, they turned the wrecked attic right into a full third ground. And to plant: Kelly found gardening in the course of the pandemic and launched greenery indoors and out.
